When?

What time of year am I going?

Lucky for me, I’m traveling during MONSOON SEASON!  Thankfully, actually just the tail end of monsoon season. In fact, the University shuts down during the actual monsoon storms, well, because Manipal is tropical (dark green on the map-“tropical wet”).

Manipal is tropical and hot with high levels of humidity between November to May (towards the end of my trip). The region receives moderate to heavy rainfall between June to October (right when I get there..great) and the temperatures range from a minimum of 24° C (75.2° F) to a high of 38° C (100.4° F).

Plan of action? Buy a monsoon umbrella when I get there and put any electronics in plastic bags before I depart.

Whoo–Glad that’s all figured out.
