What?

What am I doing?

I ask myself that same question whenever I think about studying abroad. On its simplest level, I am traveling to India. More complicatedly put, I am going to have an experience that I couldn’t garner just anywhere else, a hands-on application of public health in a trial-and-error environment.

I am participating in the Alliance for Global Education’s Manipal India program. This program allows me to visit public health clinics, and academic centers dedicated to the Indian healing medicine of Ayurveda. I also have the opportunity to immerse myself in the culture and participate in expressive culture classes, such as Hindi, cooking, yoga, and yakshagana (dance-theater, I’ll get to prance around like this!).
